Tree girdling is the complete removal of a ring of bark around the trunk of a tree, which eventually leads to its death. The process is used in the agricultural industry to increase yields of fruit or create habitats for wildlife. The current tool is inefficient, uncomfortable to use and heavy. The tool needs to be redesigned to increase both efficiency and comfort for the user.‍
